ROTARY BIO

In the Rotary world Geof has been a Rotary Youth Exchange student, and a Cultural Scholar sponsored by Rotary District 2090 in Perugia, Italy. As a Rotarian Geof was a member of the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks for over 15 years. There he served on the board of directors, and chaired various committees including Foundation, RYLA, GSE, Speech Contest, International Service, and Vocational Service. He was elected to be the club president in Rotary year 2005-2006. Geof is now a member of the Rotary Club of Sacramento. At the District level he has served on the Foundation Scholarship, RYLA and GSE Committees. He is past chair of the District Foundation Scholarship Committee. He was one of the original founders of the Interact Club at Bella Vista High School. He was a co-counselor for the Rotary Center for International Studies in Peace and Conflict Resolution at the University of California at Berkeley, and he is Past District 5180 peace scholar chair. The International Fellowship of Digital Technology Rotarians is an organization that Geof founded to help put affordable Internet access in the hands of everybody in attempt to develop true global digital equality. Geof is a Paul Harris fellow, has named his father a Paul Harris Fellow, and likewise has named Vint Cerf, the Father of the Internet, and Jim Bound, the chief architect of IPv6, the New Internet, as Paul Harris Fellows, and he is a Benefactor of the Rotary Foundation, and also a Bequest Society member.

VOCATIONAL BIO I believe strongly that any entity, regardless of how small or how large, will never achieve the pinnacle of success and its full potential without L.O.V.E., these four elements in this order: Leadership, Organization, Vision and Enthusiasm.

I am vice chairman of the Steering Committee of the North American IPv6 Task Force. I am chairman, and one of the original founders of the California IPv6 Task Force. As a forum leader, I am a part of the think tank based in Luxembourg known as the IPv6 Forum that is working on the transition to the New Internet around the world. I am a member of the Internet Society.
